Robert Ziegler
Robert Ziegler is an award-winning conductor who engages audiences around the world through his stimulating and imaginative performances. A former prizewinner in the Fitelberg Conductorsâ Competition, and recipient of awards from the Royal Television Society, the British Phonographic Society, and the New York Radio Awards, he has recently recorded with Sony, Deutsche Grammophon and Universal with the Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and Slovakian State Philharmonic Orchestras among others. Based in the UK, his recent engagements include a debut with Londonâs Philharmonia Orchestra, and as a guest conductor with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony, RTE Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra. Collaborations with leading musical figures include Lang Langâs The Disney Book, Max Richterâs Voices, Pete Townshendâs Classic Quadrophenia, Ludovico Einaudiâs Divenire, Randy Newmanâs Live in London, David Gilmourâs - Rattle That Lock, and Stewart Copelandâs Orchestralli. Zieglerâs extensive work in film includes the creation of original soundtracks with composers such as Howard Shore, Alberto Iglesias, Jonny Greenwood, Max Richter, Shigeru Umebayashi, Michael Giacchino, and Alf Clausen for The Simpsons.
