Glória Perez
Glória Maria Cláudia Pires de Morais Perez, born on September 25, 1948, in Rio Claro, Acre, Brazil, is a celebrated Brazilian screenwriter and television producer. She is best known for creating and writing some of Brazil’s most iconic telenovelas, including The Clone (2001), India: A Love Story (2009), Brave Woman (2012), and América (2005).
Her work often explores complex social themes such as cultural identity, drug addiction, and human trafficking, blending melodrama with powerful social commentary. Over her career, she has written and created more than 20 major television productions, earning widespread acclaim and numerous awards.
In addition to her writing, Glória Perez has appeared in documentaries and specials, including A Brutal Pact: The Murder of Daniella Perez (2022), which revisits the tragic story of her daughter, actress Daniella Perez.
