Arturo Merzario

Arturo Merzario is an Italian former racing driver, born on March 11, 1943, in Civenna, Italy. He competed in Formula 1 during the 1970s, driving for teams like Ferrari, Williams, and his own Merzario team. Merzario was also successful in endurance racing, notably winning the 1972 24 Hours of Le Mans with Alfa Romeo. He is widely remembered for his bravery in helping rescue Niki Lauda from his fiery crash at the 1976 German Grand Prix.
